As a proud Native American warrior, Tatanka’s journey—from his undefeated streak to his iconic battles in the ring—became an inspiration to generations of wrestling fans. 2005
After having great success on the independent market I was contacted
by WWE to appear on Monday Night Raw. It was supposed to be a one night
appearance, but the loyal fans of the WWE reacted to my surprise
appearance in such a great way that it turned into a multi-year contract with
the number one sports entertainment company in the world, WWE.
1996
1996: Took time off from wrestling 300 days per year for 5 years to start a
family. Today, I realize this was a key decision in our family. Many in my
business don't have children and have missed one of the greatest blessings in
life with your bloodline to carry-on the family legacy!
1991-1993
Only 1 year after pursing my dream I signed with the WWF in
1990. From 1991 through 1993 I faced the greatest wrestling talent in the
world and had run up a 2-year undefeated streak and had become a
household name and fan favorite in the WWF. This was the time era I
cemented my legacy with WWF (WWE).
1991
Met my wife, Michelle Chavis in NYC, home to Monday Night Raw
from the Manhattan Center in NYC. Like they say in the country, “we were
2 peas in a pod” and always enjoined each other's company and why we're
still married today, 28 years later. Today, we're so proud and blessed to have
4 awesome children that are all succeeding in life; Christiana, Rhea, Joseph,
and Jeremiah. A testament to showing love and speaking greatness into their
lives!
1989
As Divisional Manager for one of Bally’s Corporation largest health
club facilities I pursued the dream of becoming a Professional Wrestler at
the largest sports entertainment company in the world, World Wrestling
Federation. I was sure of the dream, but it didn't come without a risk and
price to pay! I had become one of Bally’s largest grossing sales managers in
the Corporation, producing annually a million dollars in sales personally.
You must take risks and believe what’s in your inner spirit and act on it! So,
in 1989 I pursued a Pro Wrestling career as a proud Native American
Warrior known then as “War Eagle” Chris Chavis.
